I can't believe I'm looking out the window on a sunny day and wishing I were home. I can't believe it's been a month already - well, that's an encouraging thought, at least.

I'm currently in a fight over money with some underworked Canada World Youth office lady who is threatening severe retribution if I don't immediately send money that I do possess, but was earlier told that I didn't have to prepare right away due to the sudden nature of my departure. Anyway, I have these visions in my head of her saying, "Who selected you?" My retort will be, "Why didn't you get a real job?" A lot of these office people seem to spend most of their time justifying their own existence, and even the people who deign to interact with us lowly participants seem to be much too concerned with rules sometimes.Only sometimes, because some of the rules are necessary.

Some of the host parents puzzle me, too. One guy who's older than I am actually has a curfew. Another counterpart pair require two days notice to do things with us.
