"Chrome Pillar Posts", eh?

Wow, that's a nice clean looking Mercury Cougar. And it's got a shiny chrome pillar post. Not the kind of accessory I'd be into, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Somehow that grass and pavement looks familiar, though... like a picture I took.

Yep. It is in fact, what was my car, and somebody Photoshopped it from my original photo. My photo is better - there's no shiny chrome pillar post, but there's a pleasant shoreline view from the east side of Souris. But in both pictures there are still the silly mismatched backup light covers. (I wish I'd noticed that before I'd made the purchase.) The present owner hasn't dealt with them either.

Lesson: You can't ever assume that aftermarket parts and accessories sellers are selling things that fit your car. Presumably, if they could, they'd fit the parts and take their own picture instead of creating a Photoshop fantasy. I understand that's harder for less common cars. Owners beware.
