the going-away-for-a-blink party

The air is clearing a bit. I have dangerous hope again. I think I need to go stick my head into a bucket of ice water.

My grandmother was moved out of the coronary care unit a few days ago and she’s doing okay. She was even supposed to come home the day before yesterday, but the doctor felt that was rushing things a bit, so she’s still there for observation and rest. Grampy’s gone back down to Sherbrooke – not counting on being out here for so long, he’s got a few things that need attending to, then he’ll be back up again.

I guess it’s time for me to focus on PEI. Or rather, the party I’ll have before going. I’m thinking Maxwell’s Plum again, but if someone can think of a better place (be careful here – while I’d call a place like The Fireside “better,” it’s not apt for the joking and beer-swilling fun that I have in mind), I’m open to suggestions. For a time and date I’m thinking Sunday (July 30th) around 8 or 9pm. Or maybe 9:30. Yeah, 9:30. 8 is lame.

And then if everyone wants to go to Pacifico or (you only live once) The Dome later, we can do that as well.

I was originally going to cram in an (optional) excursion to see Shakespeare by the Sea, but they’re playing their adaptation of The Wizard of Oz this particular night, not Much Ado About Nothing. So Shakespeare by the Sea is basically out this year, and I should have tried harder to go see it some previous weekend; but as I’ve said, I was busy being alone. This Saturday I’m going to my stepcousin’s wedding, and I leave for PEI on Monday morning (and I work until 1:30am Friday night), so the party has to be on Sunday.

Anyway, stay tuned here for updates or call the Party Line at 902-877-WILL (9455). When the time comes I’ll update my voicemail greeting to have the actual location. This is horribly unnecessary, but it’s something somebody having a real party *might* do, so I’m going to do it too. See you soon!
